I used my new swiss cheese punch on this layout. I really like it. Adds a bit of decoration and sort of whimsical too, going along with the Dr. Seuss theme. Papers are older ones from Fancy Pants, just getting aorund to using them now. Hey better late than never right!

Here is a new layout finally. I know I’ve been neglecting this blog, perhaps that will be part of my summer project to get it up to date!

Anyways, here is a layout of Ryan and Shauna, taken at the track, just standing around.  I like to catch them in the “off” moments sometimes, when they arent’ really doing anything.

I really like this line of paper from Basic Grey. Beautiful colors, and lots of nice designs.

Here’s a layout of Abby and Ryan at Christmas. She was such a good girl, and would just curl up with him whenever she got a little nervous. It was a fun day but a bit much for her at times. Such a little cutie.

Another New Year, here’s hoping it’s a fabulous one.   I’ve had a nice break over Christmas, managed to lots of celebrating, eating, visiting and even some scrapping.  What a great holiday.  Here’s one I did for a challenge over at Love is in the details, another soccer layout, this one with a grungy look.

Here’s to a great 2009 everyone.

I did this layout for a step-by-step challenge over at Scrapshotz.  It was fun, but more difficult than what I thought. Everyday we would get a few steps to do, then wait for the next ones.  It’s hard in that you aren’t sure where to put things, how big to make them,  etc, etc, but fun to see how different they all turn out.

I used pictures of Abby, in a grid pattern, and that worked great for these pics that really weren’t very nice on their own. Putting them together like this, kinda disguises that they aren’t the best photos!  I also used bazzill cardstock, Manhattan pp, Cloud 9 flowers and ricrac from SavvynSassy. I’m quite happy with the way it turned out.

I used corrugated cardboard for the first time for this layout. I even applied a scenic route rub on to it and it worked quite well. I used a jelly roll pen to apply it, the rounded cap part so that it didn’t go down into the ribs of the cardboard.

I distressed the edges, and inked of course, and even did some stitching too.  This is what it looks like.

Look at all these goodies!! You can’t even really see it all here, but I got so much fun, new stuff while I was away.  New papers – can you see the glittery polar bear and penguin – so cute, some transparencies, letter stickers, some glitter, the new Pagemaps book – which I love.  So  happy I got that. If you are a fan of Pagemaps, you’ll love this book.

More chipboard, punches, flowers, glitter and this adorable paper! I couldn’t pass it up and it had Just come into their store. Had to have it.

more paper, rub ons,  beautiful stamps, some old stuff here too, but it was on sale, so really. How could I say no? So that was my haul, well for scrappy stuff anyways. It was a lot of fun, had such a good time.  We’ll have to go again soon.

Did this one for a challenge at Scrapshotz. The challenge was to use waves or have waves in the picture. Well these fit the bill.

These were taken in 2002 in Prince George. We had driven that day from Prince Rupert, which was quite  a long drive for us. The evening was nice and warm so the kids jumped in the pool, cooled off then we had a nice campfire.  Great evening.

One day I’ll be done all these vacation pics, but I’m a page closer now! Thanks to Pagemaps for the sketch this was based on.

Well, other than a paper cut that is. 

It was just so fast and so silly, I should have been more careful. I was busy creating a page for an online crop at Scrapshotz – be sure to check them out if you haven’t already – and I was using eyelets.  My toolbag was sitting on my desk, my scissors were in there, pointy side up, you can see where this is going can’t you, and I dropped an eyelet.

I bent down to pick it up, and poked myself in the eye with my scissors! Now it could have been so much worse, I was very lucky. I caught the corner of my eye, and luckily didn’t cut it.  I did go get it checked out and it’s basically just a bruise.  It really freaked me out though, so fast, and so preventable! That’s the bad thing, it didn’t have to happen. But I’ve learned a good lesson and I did manage to finish the page. Here it is.

I think my eye was still a little wonky because I notice the eyelets are not evenly spaced.  It will be a good reminder for me now!

This layout is different than my usual style but right now I am loving it!  It came to me very easily once I found this quote. The picture is not of the finish line, but just a split second after the finish line, and I love that I’ve caught the emotion here. His head thrown back, his arms hanging but his legs still running. This was a big race, provincial qualifier,and he really wanted to make it………and he did!! So proud of him.
